Great stay, very welcoming staff and relaxing room

Apr 15, 2019 via Trip Advisor Great place to stay in a relaxing environment. Checked in around 3 pm, was welcomed and shown around the inn. Private atmosphere, well kept rooms and outdoor areas. Set back from the road, very peaceful place to stay. Great recommendations for what to do in the area, and they had breakfast scones and quiche in the morning. Happy we were able to spend the weekend here!

Lovely weekend getaway

NYCtravelbug12 wrote a review May 29 Lovely weekend getaway Beautiful property, comfortable and immaculately clean rooms. Gorgeous home, renovated, but remains charming touches. Staff is lovely. Lots to do in the area. I could have sat on their lawn the whole weekend. Review via Trip Advisor

Bliss - I hope my path leads me back!

OnAir54140511209 wrote a review May 28 Bliss - I hope my path leads me back! Loved my stay for one night in May while in town for a conference. The property is beautiful and immaculate and the staff is so welcoming, while giving guests their own space. I stayed in Room 11, which was perfect, but walked by Room 1 and Room 2 and they were lovely as well. My bed was gorgeous and super comfortable/ideal firmness and not creaky like an antique bed could be. Spa-like bathroom. Loved the record player in the room with a selection of tunes. Breakfast was fantastic - yogurt with all the trimmings, great fruit, a variety of warm homemade scones to choose from (almond & apricot were my faves!), and eggs made to order if one wished. Coffee/tea & snacks were available at all times, and a little glass of Port if desired as a nightcap. There were lots of lovely & cozy common spaces in and out, which I didn't have time to enjoy more than passing through, but I hope to come back! This B & B has the ideal mix of eclectic style and a peaceful, spacious feel, so that it is refreshing and relaxing and not jammed full of knick-knacks while at the same time being unique and with many lovingly collected treasures to check out. I loved meeting and talking with Anne upon arrival & with Damaris over breakfast, both so genuine, nice, and interesting. The Homestead is a gem - thank you for a perfect stay! Exceptinal Stay

PattiG wrote a review May 19 Exceptional Stay The Homestead Bed & Breakfast is far from your ordinary B&B. This stunning property is elegant - yet cozy - with all the comforts of a five-star hotel experience. The beauty of the property is rivaled only by the attentiveness of the staff, who never missed a beat to make us feel pampered. From port wine and fresh-baked cookies in the evening to cappuccino and melt-in-your-melt scones in the morning, the Homestead team was not just on top of every detail, but always looking a step ahead to offer us something more. We can't say enough about how remarkable our experience was, and we can't wait to return! Review via Trip Advisor

Enjoyed my stay!

Whether away for work or pleasure i somehow drift towards the coast. This week I found a new Bed & Breakfast in Madison, CT - The @homesteadmadison - and happened to be the only guest in the off season. Really enjoyed my stay, the record player in my room & the food + people @cafeallegre in town.

An Incredible Valentine's Day Escape

10 out of 10 by David on Hotels.com An Incredible Valentine’s Day Escape Posted Feb 22, 2019 First off, the facility is beautiful and quaint. My girlfriend and I felt like we were at a home away from home. The hospitality and professionalism from the time were greeted to the time we left was impeccable. We arrived to chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of wine for Valentine’s Day which was a perfect touch. The Homestead is by far one of the best establishments I have ever stayed in. The food is delicious and decor is amazing. The young lady also made reservations at Cafe Allegre which was a perfect touch for our one night escape. I cannot express my gratitude enough to the staff being accommodating and appreciative of my combat military service. We were treated with the utmost respect and we even talked about when we are going to be back. Thanks to all of the staff at the Homestead and keep up the amazing way you operate.

Extremely terrific place to stay!

The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean, the inn is cozy, and All the staff and owners extremely hospitable. I was treated like family! It was beautiful, and I would recommend this establishment to any one! The breakfasts were terrific! The berries were plump and fresh! Why would anyone want to stay at a big hotel when they could make their trip an experience?

A Home away from home!

The minute we arrived we were welcomed with cookies and tea, and a warm friendly smile. By the time we left, it was like leaving family. Ralph makes a great cappuccino. Breakfast was the best. Berries and Granola, yogurt, eggs, and a quiche were served one morning. I am normally not a breakfast consumer, but I had to have the berries over yogurt, with Granola. I loved the record player in our room, and chose some Simon and Garfunkel favorites. There was a flat screen TV, but I chose reading my book in front of the fireplace, and playing scrabble instead of watching TV. I loved it, and would recommend a stay here to anyone traveling near Madison. It was my favorite stay of all. I was sad to leave.

Wish I had stayed longer

We arrived late to a warm welcome and a real open fire. The decor is fresh, quirky and oh so comfortable. Each room is individually decorated with great little touches like the record player (that works) and I loved that the face cloths were black so did not get ruined by make up! I dare you to chose a favorite room, bet you you couldn't! After a great nights sleep we were up early for breakfast which consisted of real coffee, fresh fruit & granola followed by delicious egg casserole. I look forward to returning to explore Madison a bit more and will definitely book The Homestead for my next stay

Could not ask for more. Absolutely perfect!

I was staying in room 6 on the groundfloor and it was lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the record player in the room was a great touch. The inn itself is quaint, quirky and impeccably decorated. There's vintage cameras and typewriters dotted around the living and dining area. We were greeted with the most delicious apple based cocktail/punch that I have ever tasted in my life. The owner and his daughter were very welcoming and put up with my group (a very loud bunch of Irish) very well. For breakfast I had fresh fruit and pastries as well as a delicious cappuccino. I was also offered a to-go cup so that I could have a coffee for the road, which was very thoughtful. I'd definitely recommend a stay at The Homestead if you're in this part of Connecticut.
