Extremely terrific place to stay!

The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean, the inn is cozy, and All the staff and owners extremely hospitable. I was treated like family! It was beautiful, and I would recommend this establishment to any one! The breakfasts were terrific! The berries were plump and fresh! Why would anyone want to stay at a big hotel when they could make their trip an experience?

A Home away from home!

The minute we arrived we were welcomed with cookies and tea, and a warm friendly smile. By the time we left, it was like leaving family. Ralph makes a great cappuccino. Breakfast was the best. Berries and Granola, yogurt, eggs, and a quiche were served one morning. I am normally not a breakfast consumer, but I had to have the berries over yogurt, with Granola. I loved the record player in our room, and chose some Simon and Garfunkel favorites. There was a flat screen TV, but I chose reading my book in front of the fireplace, and playing scrabble instead of watching TV. I loved it, and would recommend a stay here to anyone traveling near Madison. It was my favorite stay of all. I was sad to leave.

Wish I had stayed longer

We arrived late to a warm welcome and a real open fire. The decor is fresh, quirky and oh so comfortable. Each room is individually decorated with great little touches like the record player (that works) and I loved that the face cloths were black so did not get ruined by make up! I dare you to chose a favorite room, bet you you couldn't! After a great nights sleep we were up early for breakfast which consisted of real coffee, fresh fruit & granola followed by delicious egg casserole. I look forward to returning to explore Madison a bit more and will definitely book The Homestead for my next stay

Could not ask for more. Absolutely perfect!

I was staying in room 6 on the groundfloor and it was lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the record player in the room was a great touch. The inn itself is quaint, quirky and impeccably decorated. There's vintage cameras and typewriters dotted around the living and dining area. We were greeted with the most delicious apple based cocktail/punch that I have ever tasted in my life. The owner and his daughter were very welcoming and put up with my group (a very loud bunch of Irish) very well. For breakfast I had fresh fruit and pastries as well as a delicious cappuccino. I was also offered a to-go cup so that I could have a coffee for the road, which was very thoughtful. I'd definitely recommend a stay at The Homestead if you're in this part of Connecticut.

Newly renovated with each room a little different. Amazing staff and attention to detail. Great for a single room hire or groups. Bikes available to get around. Close to beach (offer a beach pass), shops and restaurants. Perfect for any type of getaway or occasion. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful Stay & Delicious Breakfast!

My husband and I were welcomed at check-in and were given a tour of the house and had access to come in and out as we needed. We stayed in room 4 on the ground floor and the room was updated, clean and very comfortable. The inn truly felt like home – but it is more like an inn than a B&B. You did not feel like you were staying in someone else’s home and imposing on their space – you felt like you were staying in an inn and had open access to all the common spaces which were warm and decorated very nicely. For breakfast we had fresh out of the oven scones (amazing) had fresh fruit, yogurt & granola and the coffee was wonderful. While we were only there for 1 night – I would highly recommend to anyone and it would be a great couples escape in the summer as the location is a short bike ride to the beach and town – and they offer you bikes with your stay as well! We will return!

So much more than we expected!

From the second we walked in, we honestly felt like we were in a family home. Beautiful but not too formal which is always good when traveling with kids. The staff could not be nicer, by the end of two days we felt like family. Our room had every ammenity you would think of and more. The bed was like sleeping in a cloud. In addition, we were traveling with a 3 year old who quickly made friends with Damaris, Pat and Ann. Breakfast was delicious with cappuccino made to order and warm cookies in the afternoon. This is so beyond any bed and breakfast we have ever been to. Can't wait to return in the summer.
